Overview
The viewpoint has northeast, east and south views and offers panoramic views of the trail area, including the area extending to the southeast. From the viewpoint, you can view various traditional crops. Olive and carob trees predominate, with scattered almond trees in places. In addition, the areas abandoned many years ago are covered with natural vegetation, consisting of groups of pine trees, tall and low shrubs, semi-shrubs and herbaceous plants. After the crops, there is the Sterakotos gully, the bed of which is crossed by part of the path. The pine forest you see after the gully (to the north-east and east) forms European habitat type 9540 (A/A 21). There are also small olive groves, carob plantations, small vineyards and bushes in places. The ruins of the chapel of Agios Georgios are located approximately in the middle of the pine-covered slope, and further back is the homonymous peak, while to the north-east the road leading to Agia Marina can be seen. In the distance to the east are the outskirts of Kelokedara and the peak of Paura, at an altitude of 772 metres. To the south-east, and beyond the point where the Sterakotos gully flows, a relatively bare slope can be seen, on the ridge of which there is a large group of trees. At this point is the Turkish Cypriot village of Stavrokonou. Behind Stavrokonou you can see the wind turbines of the wind farm that was created in the forest of Orites and aims to produce electricity. Also on the ridge visible in the background, to the left of the wind turbines, are the villages of Archimandrita and Maronas.
